The annual list of the top-earning public sector employees in Ontario  is out.

The latest so-called “sunshine list” shows the number of workers earning at least $100-thousand dollars has increased by 11 per cent last year – to more than 88-thousand, 400 people.

Tthe average salary on the list is just over $127-thousand, 500 dollars.

The  list  includes doctors, nurses, teachers, police, firefighters and civil servants.

The  highest paid is Tom Mitchell, president and C-E-O of Ontario Power Generation.

He made $1.7 million dollars, down slightly from 2011 and is  followed by Hydro One C-E-O Laura Formusa at $1.04 million dollars.

N-D-P Leader Andrea Horwath says the governing Liberals must cap the salaries of public sector C-E-Os. She says some of them get increases that are more than what a family would earn in a year.
