Esther Williams, the swimming champion turned aquatic actress  has died at the age of 91.

Williams was known for her wholesome beauty and perfect figure in the glittering Technicolor musicals in the 1940’s and 50’s.

Her longtime publicist says Williams died in her sleep early this morning.
