While Starbucks plans to post calories on menu boards in American stores, Canadian customers will still have to rely on the chain’s brochures, website and app for nutritional information. Starting next week, U.S. customers at Starbucks will be able to quickly see how many calories are in the items they purchase, from a tall skinny vanilla latte to a mochaccino with whipped cream. Carly Suppa is the senior communications manager for Starbucks Canada. She says the nutritional information is already easy to find and understand and having it on a menu board is not something Canadian customers have requested. In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration will soon require all restaurant companies with more than 20 locations to supply menu board information. There is no such legislation looming in Ontario or Canada.
