WALK OF FAME INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED

The latest inductees to Canada’s Walk of Fame include Terry Fox, jazz pianist Oscar Peterson and actors Alan Thicke and Victor Garber.

Also joining the walk are music mogul Bob Ezrin, soccer star Christine Sinclair and activists Craig and Marc Kielburger.

A statement from Dan Mcgrath,chair of the board of directors says, “Each year, we are reminded of just how many Canadians have persevered in their fields, leaving us inspired in our own individual pursuit of excellence.”

Candidates must have been born in or spent their creative or formative years in Canada and have achieved a minimum of 10 years of success and developed a recognized body of work that has had a significant influence on Canada’s cultural heritage.

The class of 2013 will be honoured at a ceremony at the historic Elgin Theatre on September 21st.

Past inductees include ballet star Karen Kain, hockey great Bobby Orr, music legends Rush, author Timothy Findley, astronaut Roberta Bondar, acclaimed troupe Cirque du Soleil and comedian Russell Peters.
