The President of South Africa says the condition of former President Nelson Mandela has improved.
Jacob Zuma says he visited the anti-apartheid icon this morning and found he was doing much better than last night, when Zuma announced he was cancelling a trip to Mozambique.
Zuma says Mandela remains in critical but stable condition in hospital in Pretoria.
Mandela has been in hospital since June 8th because of a recurring lung infection. The former anti-apartheid leader has been prone to respiratory problems since contracting tuberculosis since his 27 years in prison under the apartheid regime.
