The Venice Film Festival will open with a film teaming George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.
The two star in Gravity. It’s a 3D film about two astronauts stranded when their space shuttle is hit by debris. It’s directed by Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron.
Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci leads the jury that will decide the Golden Lion award for best film. And US director William Friedkin will receive a lifetime achievement award.
The rest of the festival lineup has not been announced.
The Venice Film Festival runs from August 28th to September 7th.
