Toronto’s transit is on its way to returning to normal  after last  night’s intense rainstorm, but crews in the GTA are now dealing with the aftermath, including flooding and  power outages.

Toronto Hydro says 20,000 customers are still without power in the west end, bounded by Dundas Street west to Lake Shore Blvd. West -and the West Mall to Windermere Avenue.

Subway service has resumed, except on the Bloor-Danforth line between Kipling and Jane stations – where the  mezzanine  and the collector area is still under water.

The tracks between Kipling and Islington stations are still flooded.

With large portions of track under water, service on GO trains has  also been impacted, but is  slowly returning to regular scheduling.

On the Lakeshore West line, train service will be shut down until later this afternoon between Union and Port Credit while tracks are repaired.

Most of the major expressways in and out of the city have reopened, but a number of roads remain closed, including:

•Bayview Ave. between Pottery Rd. and King St.
•Royal York Rd. at the Dundas St. bridge.

Rosedale Valley Road has now re-opened.

Flights out of Billy Bishop Airport have resumed with a handful of delays.

Pearson Airport’s website is back online after being down for a portion of the morning. Planes are departing, but with delays. Travellers  are asked to call their carrier to confirm whether their flights will be on time.
