The funding freeze imposed on the Toronto District School Board has been lifted.

A freeze on money for capital projects was imposed last October after costs ran way over budget on a number of building projects.

They included a retrofit at  Nelson Mandela Park Public School in Regent Park  that went 7-million dollars over budget.

The Education Ministry ordered trustees to get costs under control, saying no new funds would be released until that happened.

In a statement today, Education Minister  Liz Sandals said – while there have been improvements –  there are still concerns about the the board’s spending.
