EMMY AWARDS MAKE BROADCAST HISTORY

History was made at this morning’s Emmy nominations.

For the first time, a series is in the running that has not been seen on TV. House of Cards was produced by Netflix to be watched online. Its stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are nominated in best acting categories.

Downton Abbey is also in the running for best series. Stars Hugh Bonneville and Michelle Dockery also received nods.

American Horror Story: Asylum received the most nominations with 17. Game of Thrones had 16. Saturday Night Live and Behind the Candelabra are nominated in 15 categories.

And Zoomer Betty White is also in the running. The 91-year-old has been nominated for Outstanding Host of a Reality Series for Off Their Rockers. 

The Emmys will be handed out September 22nd.
