The province says it will pay two-thirds of the cost of a Toronto subway extension to Scarborough, that’s 1.4-billion dollars.
But TTC Chair, Karen Stintz says today’s announcement from the Wynne government isn’t good enough.
The city had been looking for 1.8 billion from the province.
Transportation minister Glen Murray says the federal government will also have to chip in to cover the remaining costs of the project.
Toronto council approved the multi billion-dollar subway extension on Wednesday but the project is contingent on provincial and federal funding.
