It’s been confirmed that Mosquitoes in Toronto have tested positive for the West Nile Virus  for the first time this year.

Toronto Public Health says some ways to protect yourself include wearing light-coloured, long-sleeved shirts and pants when outdoors, especially at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active.

Insect repellents approved by Health Canada are also effective.

Another good idea is to remvoe standing water which provides breeding opportunities for mosquitoes.
