It’s the end of an era at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Shaw has announced his retirement.
Shaw says working with the dedicated people associated with the TSO has been not only a great privilege but also a uniquely stimulating and enriching experience.
He says he’ll remain with the orchestra until the late fall – completing a number of key strategic and business initiatives, but after that, he’ll pursue an overdue objective to rebalance his life – after more than a decade focused exclusively on leading the TSO.
The Board has begun to plan for the search for Mr. Shaw’s successor and has struck a special committee to manage the process.
