Toronto music lovers who would like to hear superstar pianist Lang Lang play Prokofiev will be able to catch his coming concert with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra without booking a plane ticket.
The orchestra has announced that Lang has agreed to allow his September 28th concert at Orchestra Hall to be live-streamed on the internet. It would mark his first live webcast with a U.S. orchestra.
The performance will feature Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Major. It will be available on the orchestra’s website, and its free DSO to Go mobile app. It’s part of the DSO’s Live From Orchestra Hall webcast series.
A week prior to the Detroit performance, Lang Lang will play at the Toronto Symphony’s season-opening gala on September 21st.
