Lisa Raitt, the Federal Minister of Transportation, is pushing back against comments made by Ontario Transportation Minister Glen Murray on Wednesday.

While announcing funding for a two-stop extension to the Scarborough Town Centre, Murray accused Mayor, Rob Ford, federal Minister of Finance, Jim Flaherty and Raitt of failing to provide any money to build mass transit.

But Raitt says she’s following a time line set by they city in a letter sent to Ottawa.

It asks for a response on federal funding by September 30.

Mayor Ford has agreed to help fund a three-stop subway extension to Sheppard Avenue possibly with a property tax increase.
