It’s confirmation of what many zoomers already know.

It’s not true that older employees are less productive than their younger colleagues.

The Essex Business School at the University of Essex carried out research on that assumption on behalf of the charity, Age UK.

It found that the older employees are just as motivated and willing to work as younger colleagues when it comes to productivity, health, commitment and flexibility.

Doctor, Kathleen Riach conducted the study.

She says the findings of her research suggest that older people are often faster at carrying out complex tasks that allow them to draw on their knowledge  and years of work experience.

Riach says while work-speed may deteriorate the overall efficiency of older people, experience offsets any impact to productivity.

The findings are borne out by two separate studies of car manufacturers in German – the country with the largest aging population in Europe where four out of 10 employees are aged between 60 and 64.
