Toronto police say Christopher Peloso has been found alive.

The husband of former Ontario health minister George Smitherman has been missing since Monday.

Police say they tracked Peloso’s cellphone signal and he was found conscious and breathing around 11:30 a.m in the area of Dupont Street and Landsdowne Avenue.

He’s been taken to hospital for medical attention.

George Smitherman served as Ontario’s deputy premier, health minister and energy minister before stepping down to run for mayor of Toronto in 2010.

The couple were married in August 2007 and have two adopted children.
