ZOOMER TELEVISION STAR BOB NEWHART FINALLY GETS AN EMMY AWARD

At the age of 84, veteran comedian and television star Bob Newhart has finally won an Emmy Award.  He wept as the audience gave him a standing ovation at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony.  Newhart’s television history begin in the 1960s, but he won for his guest role last season as Professor Proton on The Big Bang Theory.

The original Bob Newhart Show ran from 1972 to 1978.  His second Newhart show was on television in the 1980s.

Bob Newhart is known for his deadpan and slightly stammering delivery.  His comedy album The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart was a worldwide bestseller and reached number one on the Billboard pop album chart.  It remains the 20th bestselling comedy album in history.
