The former Guantanamo Bay inmate is expected in an Edmonton court tomorrow.
It would be his first appearance in public since US soldiers captured him as a badly wounded 15-year-old in Afghanistan 11 years ago.
Apparently, the Toronto-born Khadr, who turned 27 last week, will not speak during the hearing, expected to last the day.
His lawyers want to have his ongoing detention in an adult prison declared illegal and to see him serve out the rest of his war crimes sentence in a provincial facility.
Ottawa says it’ll fight any bid to see Khadr on Canadian streets anytime soon as it continues to insist he’s a dangerous terrorist.
