“I Laurie take thee Muriel, to be my wedded wife,” and with that, Doctor Laurie Morgan married his wife of seventy years all over again!  Both are 92, and decided to renew their vows at a ceremony in Toronto’s High Park area.

They were born within two weeks of each other, grew up in the same neighborhood and even went to the same high school, but didn’t meet until they were both 18.  It wasn’t long before they were engaged, and now the couple has been married for seven decades.

When asked the secret behind their longevity? Dr. Morgan says, “we love the Lord and he’s been good to us.  Even all this, I believe, is of the Lord.”  However Dr. Morgan is also quick to point out another secret of his – he always lets Muriel win the arguments.  “She’s the smarter of the two of us,” he laughs, “she’s two weeks older than I am, and she never lets me forget it.”
