Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne is reacting to revelations that executives with the Toronto Pan Am 2015 organizing committee have been billing taxpayers for tea and coffee.
Wynne describes the expense claims as ridiculous , especially when you consider that the executives are being paid very generously.
She says expense rules will be tightened to prevent such claims in the future.
The Progressive Conservatives want the government to force the Pan Am executives to pay back some of the expenses they billed to Ontario taxpayers.
Meanwhile, Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford has asked the city’s auditor general to investigate the expense claims.
Toronto 2015 spokesman Teddy Katz says Pan Am organizers are committed to transparency and would be open to any further audits.
He said the policy was followed in each case cited.
