Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford says he doesn’t throw his friends under the bus.

He was reacting to reporter’s questions about news that a man described as a friend and an occasional driver for the Mayor is facing four drug charges.

The Mayor says he’s surprised because he’s never seen 35-year old Alexander Lisi take a drink or do drugs.

Another man was also charged.

47 year old Jamshid Bahrami faces 3 drug related offenses including possession of cocaine and trafficking in marijuana.

This story is generating interest in part because of a recent Toronto Star report that Lisi had told three associates he has supplied drugs to Mayor Ford, a claim that has not been verified by either Lisi or the Mayor.
