The University of Toronto is back in the global top 20, but other Canadian universities have slipped in the annual rankings from Times Higher Education. Hamilton’s McMaster University, Canada’s fourth ranked school, lost four places and wound up 92nd in the world, while the University of Victoria fell out of the top 200 after placing 196th a year ago.
Canada’s three top ranked universities held their ground in the world rankings, with U of T moving up one spot to 20th place, and the University of British Columbia and McGill University both losing a single spot, coming up 31st and 35th respectively.
Times Higher Education ranks The California Institute of Technology in first place, followed by Harvard University and University of Oxford in second and third spots.
