A Milton woman is going pubic after being denied provincial coverage of a cancer drug that could prolong her life.
41-year old Kimm Fletcher was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2010.
She was recently diagnosed with stage four brain cancer and given two months to live.
Fletcher was told by her doctors the cancer drug which goes under the trade name Avastin could potentially extend her life by a year or even longer.
But six months of treatment costs roughly 48-thousand dollars and is not covered by OHIP in cases of brain cancer.
Roche, the pharmaceutical company behind Avastin, has offered to pay 20 per cent of the cost.
