There are questions about whether three disgraced senators are entirely off the federal payroll.
That has come to light as the expense scandal that resulted in their suspension yesterday continues to dominate in the House of Commons.
But Prime Minister Stephen Harper didn’t directly respond to any of the opposition questions – instead, he congratulated the Senate for suspending Mike Duffy, Patrick Brazeau and Pamela Wallin.
The senators are all getting benefits, but no pay for about two years – and there are questions about items like disability and pension eligibility.
