Oscar season officially gets underway tomorrow.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will hold its Governor’s Awards, presenting several non-competition statuettes.
Angelina Jolie will be presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at a black-tie dinner in Hollywood. She’s the founder of the Prevent Sexual Violence Initiative and a special envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin, and costume designer Piero Tosi all receive lifetime achievement awards. Asked about his reaction to the honour, Tosi said, “given my young age, I was really shocked.”
Piero Tosi is 86.
