Two of mayor Rob Ford’s senior staffers have chosen to work under the direction of Deputy Mayor, Norm Kelly and are leaving the Mayor’s office. They are Earl Provost the mayor’s chief of staff and Sheila Paxton Director of Policy. Paxton says her role has not changed just the person she reports to. The office of the Policy Director has been described as the one that runs the city behind the scenes. Deputy Mayor Kelly says staff who chose to leave the Mayor’s office did so voluntarily. Kelly was commenting after meetings today concerning the transition of power from the Mayor’s office to his after the change was mandated by a vote of city council yesterday. Eleven of mayor Ford’s staff chose to leave to work with the Deputy Mayor while 9-chose to stay with Mayor Ford. In a late development it’s been announced that Rob and Doug Ford’s Sun TV Show will not continue beyond last night’s first episode.
