Canada’s minister for international development has arrived in the Philippines. Christian Paradis will visit areas hardest hit by Typhoon Haiyan where Canadian relief efforts have been concentrated. They include Tacloban, Ormoc and Roxas City. Paradis will meet with international humanitarian partners coordinating the reconstruction efforts. Canada’s Disaster Assistance Response Team or DART is on the ground as well. More than 20-million-dollars has been donated by private Canadians for humanitarian efforts.
