NORMAN JEWISON HONOURED BY TORONTO FILM CRITICS

The Toronto Film Critics Association is honouring director and producer Norman Jewison for his contributions to Canadian cinema.

The world-renowned Toronto-born director’s films include In the Heat of the Night, Fiddler on the Roof, and Moonstruck. He also founded the Canadian Film Centre, which has 1,500 graduates working in Canada’s film industry.

Jewison receives the Technicolor Clyde Gilmour Award. He will select a worthy filmmaker who will receive $50,000 in film services.

The association also selected director Matt Johnson to receive the $5,000 Scotiabank Jay Scott Award for best emerging artist.
