It’s believed more than 458-thousand homes will be sold by the end of the year and the Canadian Real Estate Association predicts even more will be sold in 2014.

This year saw increased sales in Ontario and the four western provinces.

The country’s largest real estate association says 2013 has turned out to be a better year than anticipated with the projected national average price up 5 per cent over last year to a little more than $382,000.

The average price in Toronto last month was close to $540,000, up more than 11 per cent from last year.
