We’re heading into a weekend of travel, parties, and last-minute shopping.

But the weather is not cooperating.

A freezing rain warning is in effect for the GTA and much of southern Ontario today. Freezing rain or drizzle could fall through much of the day, especially later this afternoon.

But a more powerful disturbance will hit us tomorrow evening, and Environment Canada says it has the potential to develop into an ice storm.

There’s still quite a bit of uncertainty about exactly where this storm will track.

The bottom line is, the next few days will bring us some combinataion of rain, snow, and freezing rain.

If you are flying out of Pearson or Billy Bishop, be sure to check ahead. There have been some delays at both airports, and a few cancellations at Pearson.

Air Canada and Westjet say, if your flight is cancelled, don’t go to the airport until you have confirmed a new flight. Air Canada is also waiving any fee for re-scheduling a flight.
