So long and farewell to a historic collection of costumes worn by the von Trapp family.
Fourteen pieces from the wardrobe room of ”The Sound of Music” movie go on the auction block today in Hollywood, including the jacket and pants worn by Captain von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) in the ”Edelweiss” and ”So Long, Farewell” numbers.
They’re expected to fetch as much as $250,000.
This past summer the children and Julie Andrews’ costumes went for over $1.5 million.
The most successful musical in movie history earned five Oscars including Best Picture of 1965.
