If you’re heading to the Ottawa area to visit the kids or grandchildren for New Year celebrations prepare for very cold weather. A frostbite advisory has been issued by Ottawa Public Health for today and tomorrow and the frigid temperatures are expected to stick around into the new year. The forecast is calling for the temperature to hold steady around minus 15 today, with a wind chill close to minus 30. Anyone who goes outside is advised to bundle up since experts say exposed flesh can freeze in less than 15 minutes.
