The husband of former deputy premier George Smitherman has been found dead after being reported missing for the second time this year.

Smitherman’s released a statement saying police have confirmed to him that they’d found the body of 40-year old Christopher Peloso.

Smitherman says ”We will celebrate his life and we will find comfort somehow in knowing that he has found peace from the depression that has wreaked havoc on his mind.

Peloso, who was last seen yesterday morning, had also gone missing in September and was found two days later.

Smitherman served as deputy premier, health minister and energy minister before stepping down to run for Mayor in 2010.
