Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair has commented in a year end interview about his remarks concerning Mayor, Rob Ford and video of the mayor showing him with what appears to be a crack cocaine pipe. Blair was asked if he regretted his comment that he was disappointed after having seen the images that came to light during a police investigation. He says he expressed how he felt as a citizen which would not prejudice any future legal action and that it was an honest answer. Blair’s comment resulted in allegations from mayor Ford and his brother Councillor Doug Ford that the police investigation was entirely political but Blair denies that. Also during the CP24 interview chief Blair revealed that constable John Zivcic was not wearing a seat belt when he was critically injured in a crash while on-duty about a month ago. The constable was pronounced dead on December 2 less than 48 hours after his cruiser crashed into another vehicle near Bloor West and Neilson Drive.
