A number of critically acclaimed film favourites continue their march toward the Academy Awards.
“Blue Jasmine,” “Nebraska,” and “American Hustle” have been nominated for Writers Guild honours.
The three comedies, joined by dramas “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Her,” were nominated for exceptional writing – in the original screenplay category.
Noted for best adapted screenplay were “August: Osage County,” “Before Midnight,” “Captain Phillips,” “Lone Survivor,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
And included in the nominated documentaries is Toronto’s Sarah Polley for “Stories We Tell.”
The winners will be honoured on February 1st at simultaneous ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles.
