TORONTO HYDRO STORM COSTS SOAR TO MORE THAN 12-MILLION DOLLARS

It’s not a guarantee but the CEO of Toronto Hydro says customers won’t be on the hook for the 12.9 million dollars that the ice storm cost the utility if he can prevent that. Anthony Haines says the storm costs include about one-million dollars in lost revenue and the cost of overtime and hiring outside contractors amounted to about 10-million dollars with materials costing an estimated 2-million. Nearly 300-thousand people went without power at the height of the storm. Some people had to endure a lack of heat and light for as many as ten days.
