It turns out the review of the Pearson International Airport shutdown earlier this week will be made public, or at least parts of it will be released. Greater Toronto Airports Authority CEO Howard Eng made the promise yesterday in his first public statement since the crisis began. GTAA spokesperson Scott Armstrong had earlier said the review would not be released. Eng also apologized to passengers for the disruptions and vowed to meet next week with airlines and other ground handlers to debrief the situation. He said it’s too early to say whether mistakes had been made. Pearson Airport is only just getting back on schedule, after extreme cold temperatures prompted the GTAA to declare a ground stop early on Tuesday, halting all North American flights for more than eight hours. The stop caused chaos at the airport, stranding thousands of travellers and forcing delays for days.
