Ontarians in two ridings will go to the polls on February 13th.
As expected, Premier Kathleen Wynne has called byelections in the ridings of Niagara Falls and Thornhill.
Speculation about the call began to heat up yesterday when the Liberal government announced a new hospital for Niagara Falls.
Wynne had said she wanted both seats filled before the legislature resumes sitting on February 18th. Traditionally, byelections are called on a Wednesday and held on a Thursday four weeks later.
The Niagara Falls riding was held by Kim Craitor for the past ten years before his resignation. Thornhill had been held by Peter Shurman until he left after a very public falling-out with PC leader Tim Hudak over a housing allowance.
