Another video controversy is swirling around Toronto Mayor Rob Ford – after a video was posted on youtube today – showing Ford speaking incoherently and mimicking a Jamaican dialect.
The video was taken last night at a Rexdale fast food restaurant and Ford admitted at city hall this afternoon – that he had indeed been drinking.
The mayor’s admission comes one week after he angrily told reporters he no longer drank.
He did not apologize for his behaviour on the video and said what he does on his personal time is up to him.
At one point in the recording it appears the Mayor is venting his anger at Police Chief Bill Blair.
Ford is heard to say the words “Chief Blair” after uttering an expletive.
In a reference to the police surveillance of Ford’s personal driver and friend Alexander Sandro Lisi the Mayor complains about the money spent when they: “chased me around five months.”
City Councillor, Jay Robinson is among those who are expressing disappointment at the Mayor’s behaviour .
She says, “Again, the distractions continue.”
