The circumstances surrounding the beating in a Toronto jail of Rob Ford’s former brother-in-law are being investigated for a second time by the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.  The announcement by the Ministry came a day after Scott MacIntyre filed a lawsuit alleging the attack in 2012 was initiated to protect Mayor Ford and was orchestrated by a fellow inmate and former high school football star previously coached by Ford.  Ministry spokesperson Andrew Morrison says the matter is being reopened now that it’s come to light “that there was a potential breach in policy.”  At the time of the beating, MacIntyre was in custody at the Toronto West Detention Centre on charges of threatening Rob Ford.  He has a lengthy criminal record.  Lawyers representing Mayor Ford have dismissed the allegations.
