A report that Ian Troop, the ousted C-E-O of Toronto’s 2015 Pan Am Games committee is getting 534-thousand-dollars in severance has the Progressive Conservatives of calling for the resignation of Tourism Minister Michael Chan. Chan has said the severance will not cost taxpayers additional money. But P-C critic Rod Jackson says there’s no comfort in Chan’s assertion that the severance costs will be absorbed within the games budget. Troop, who was paid 477 thousand dollars a year as CEO of the Pan Am committee, billed taxpayers 91 cents for parking, a dollar-89 for a cup of tea and more than 85 hundred dollars for a Mexican hotel and cocktail party.
