Security at next year’s Pan Am Games here in southern Ontario is going up again. The province is estimating it will cost about 239 million dollars for proper security at the Toronto-area games. That’s up from a previous estimate of 206 million. Once transportation and the athletes’ village are added in, the cost of Toronto’s Pan Am Games is expected to hit about 2.5 billion dollars. The province hopes to recoup some of that money by turning the athletes’ village into affordable housing units and students residences.
