COFFEE CONSUMPTION REDUCES RISK OF PARKINSON'S DISEASE

coffee on the brainWe know coffee makes us feel more wide awake, but ongoing research suggests it also reduces risk of developing Parkinson’s disease.  One study from Boston University School of Medicine, found that people who drank two or more cups of coffee a day had a 40-percent lower risk of developing the disease which progressively impairs movement, body coordination and speech.  Some companies have been designing drugs to replicate the benefits of coffee.  But turning that understanding into a medicine hasn’t been easy.  Merck and Company ended development of such a treatment for Parkinson’s disease last year after late stage testing suggested it didn’t work.
