There’ll be a review by the PMO of today’s Supreme Court decision on the appointment of Marc Nadon to the high court.

By a six-to-one margin, the court rejected Prime Minister Harper’s latest appointment to the bench.

The judges ruled that Marc Nadon, a semi-retired Federal Court of Appeal judge from Quebec – did not meet the criteria for Quebec appointees.

It also struck down a key feature of the Harper government’s bill that amended the Supreme Court Act last year.

Toronto constitutional lawyer Rocco Galati challenged Nadon’s appointment.

He’s welcoming the court’s decision, but says it shouldn’t have fallen to an ordinary citizen to raise the issue.
