It’s happened again.
Executives at the province’s energy agencies were among the highest paid public sector employees last year.
That’s according to the so-called “sunshine list.”
Tom Mitchell, who is the president and CEO of Ontario Power Generation, sits atop the list – with pay of $1.71 million in 2013.
That’s close to what he made the year before.
Hydro One’s president and CEO Carmine Marcello, who started work in January last year, earned $728,570, including taxable benefits.
The list of workers earning at least $100,000 includes doctors, nurses, teachers, police and firefighters as well as civil servants and grew about 11 per cent last year – to 97,796 names.
The government says the average salary on the list was $127,433 last year – down slightly from the year before.
