The Ontario election campaign gets underway officially today.

The parties will now be limited in how much they can spend during the campaign. You can expect to see lawn signs popping up along with the dandelions. And the party leaders’ tour buses will be criss-crossing the province.

Liberal leader Kathleen Wynne began the day in Kitchener-Waterloo, where she promoted her party’s drive for investment in education and partnering with business.

Conservative leader Tim Hudak, meanwhile, says Ontario under the Liberals has become a place where the cost of doing business is too high to attract business. He continues to promote what he calls his “million jobs plan.”

So far, NDP leader Andrea Horwath is continuing her accusations about the corruption at Queen’s Park under the Liberal government. She pointed out that a “CEO who drives up Hydro rates gets a bonus that is more than most people  make in a year.”

Horwath will make stops in Niagara Falls and Kitchener today. Kitchener has a couple of ridings that are considered up for grabs, which means the party leaders will be making frequent stops there.

Election day is June 12th, five weeks from tomorrow.
