Tim Hudak says his million jobs plan is also a plan to support new Canadians.

The Ontario Conservative Leader started his day at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, where he said that this province is losing out on an influx of skilled immigrants who are moving to other provinces with better job prospects.

Hudak was also critical of the Liberals for wasting a billion dollars to protect the jobs of Liberal politicians during the gas plant scandal while falling behind other provinces in allowing immigrants to fill labour shortages.

He added that he hopes to become the first Premier of Ontario whose family did not come from the British Isles.

NDP Leader Andrea Horvath also began the day in Toronto. She announced a plan to cut emergency room wait times in half. Horwath says an NDP government would hire 250 new nurse practitioners to work in emergency rooms and would create 1,400 more long-term care beds to help ease pressure on wait times.

Liberal leader Kathleen Wynne began her day touring a farm in Paris, Ontario. She announced a $40-million fund for farmers and the agriculture sector.

Wynne has campaign events planned in London and Windsor today. Hudak has stops in Woodstock and Sebringville. Horwath will spend most of the day in London.
