WHO DO YOU WANT DRIVING THE AUTO SECTOR?

The way Kathleen Wynne sees it, Tim Hudak would ”destroy” the auto sector and drive it ”into the ditch.”

Speaking at an auto industry supplier near Windsor, the premier said there was no question the 2009 bailouts for Chrysler and GM were needed.

The Liberal leader claims the Progressive Conservatives would move away from a ”decades-old strategy of partnerships between government and business” and tell the industry it’s on its own.

Earlier this year, PC Leader Hudak described a reported request for $700-million from Queen’s Park and Ottawa as ”ransom” and ”corporate extortion.”

Campaigning in Cobourg, Hudak said Liberal handouts tend to reward the well connected while his plan to cut taxes would benefit all businesses.

As for the New Democrats, Wynne says Andrea Horwath ”alienates” business and makes herself ”irrelevant” in the discussion about how to support the industry.

But during a campaign stop in Brampton, the NDP leader said she’s in favour of the province partnering with the industry to save jobs.
