Moses Znaimer is passionate about many things – AM 740, Classical 96.3 FM, Vision TV, Zoomer magazine, CARP – A New Vision of Aging.
But there’s one that holds a special place in his heart – MZTV Museum of Television & Archive.
The officially opened new museum charts the history of the medium from the dawn of image transmission to the arrival of the transistor and contemporary era.
The collection includes the legendary RCA ”Phantom Teleceiver”; a translucent lucite set that launched commercial TV at the New York World’s Fair in 1939 and Marilyn Monroe’s personal portable TV set.
Moses Znaimer says while there are other collections out there ”as un-Canadian as it may be I may have to admit now that it is arguably the best (TV museum) in the world.”
Summer hours begin Tuesday July 2 from 12 noon – 5pm with guided tours at 4pm or by appointment
