About one-third of the world’s population is fat.
And the same new report says no country has been able to curb obesity rates the past three decades.
The study, published online in the journal ”Lancet”, shows over two-billion people worldwide are overweight or obese.
The U-S has about 13 % of the world’s heavyweights; a greater percentage than any other country.
Meanwhile, another study suggests unhealthy behaviours are the reason for one in three days spent in hospital by Ontario residents.
The suspected price tag is about $1.8-billion a year.
The behaviours studied by researchers in Toronto and Ottawa are smoking, excess alcohol consumption, poor diet and physical inactivity.
